Each time we sip a drink, we're guzzling history. Historian and raconteur Andrew F. Smith will show how what we drink has changed history and how history has changed what we drink. And this isn't what your teachers told you in school. We'll be looking at the way spirits, beer, and wine have shaped our country’s character, making America what it is today.
In addition to the surprising and unusual history of America, we will be doing some hands-on (or more accurately lips-on) research, staging a different tasting relevant to that week's subject. Consider it one part off-beat history, one part cocktail hour, and all in good taste.
