Chris Hallowell

Chris Hallowell is a wine and spirits journalist and winemaker living in New York. Chris first discovered his love for wine when he and his father began making Chardonnay from Canada’s Okanagan Valley. Later on that year, he co-founded The Second Glass, a Boston-based value wine magazine, for which he wrote much of the content. Looking for a change of pace, he moved to New York were he became the Beverage Director at Thalassa in TriBeCa before taking a position at Wine & Spirits Magazine as the Associate Editor and Spirits Critic for the next three years. Currently, Chris is a Features Editor at Lot18, a New York-based website, which offers members hard-to-find wines and gourmet products. Chris is also planning his inaugural vintage of Festina Lente, a cross-country winemaking project under his Hallowell Vintners wine label.
