John Glaser

John Glaser is the founder and whiskymaker of Compass Box Whisky Company, a boutique Scotch whisky blending company widely recognized as the industry's leading innovator.

Scotch whisky is a passion for John. In 2000, this passion led him to leave his position as Global Marketing Director for Johnnie Walker and start his own Scotch whisky company. His idea was simple: create whiskies of unassailable high quality in a style that is more in line with the tastes of today. In short, a "new world" approach to Scotch whisky. John also spent several years in the wine industry in both America and France.

Compass Box hand-picks mature malt and grain whiskies from 12 different distilleries across Scotland, then blends them in small batches to create their award-winning range. All blending and bottling takes place just outside of Edinburgh, Scotland.

John, an American from Minnesota, has been based in London since 1998. He lives with his wife and two young boys in Kew, near the Thames River.
