Orange wine is the new white. While "orange" is the umbrella term, the unifying aspect of these white wines is skin-contact. This class will trace the story of the source of orange wines in Georgia and see the influence as that ancient culture spread to Friuli in Italy and adjoining Slovenia. You’ll taste eight wines in four side-by-side pairings allowing us to compare the difference in the color and flavor profile varies. We’ll discuss the influence of different varietals, regions, and many techniques that can be used in a skin-contact white wine.
