For much of western winemaking history, French wines have served as the inspiration and benchmark of wines produced all over the world. But how well do you really know the wines of France? Between the language barrier, fancy-looking labels, and range of prices, France can be very intimidating. Well, fear no more! Join us for a tasting tour de France, where we will break down the famous regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, discuss charming offerings of the Loire and Rhône Valleys, and analyze the complexities of Alsace. We’ll also take a detour to discover some of France’s emerging and unsung regions while learning how to decipher a French wine label, figure out the meaning of terroir, and give you some tips to help you find that next perfect bottle of vin Français.
Classes are 2 hours long, including a Q&A session with Astor Center Instructor Chris Struck.
