Susan Friedland worked in publishing at HarperCollins Publishers for more than sixteen years. She acquired, edited, and published books by Marcella Hazan, Richard Olney, Nancy Harmon Jenkins, Paula Wolfert, Alice Water, Patricia Wells. Cesare Casella, Raymond Sokolov, among many other distinguished authors. In addition, she is herself the author of five cookbooks: Ribs, Caviar, The Jewish-American Kitchen (with Raymond Sokolov), The Passover Table, and Shabbat Shalom.
