Timothy Sullivan

Timothy Sullivan is the founder of UrbanSake.com, which started in 2005 and is America's longest-running sake education website and a treasure trove of information on anything related to sake. In 2007, Timothy was awarded the title of "Sake Samurai" by the Japan Sake Brewers Association in recognition of his work promoting sake outside of Japan. Timothy travels to teach sake seminars, host pairing dinners and introduce sake to food and beverage fans across the country and across the world. In addition, Timothy is an instructor for the Sake School of America. Timothy is also certified as an International Sake Sommelier by Japan's Sake Service Institute (SSI), as an Advanced Sake Professional by the Sake Education Council (SEC) and has also earned the prestigious J.S.A. Sake Diploma from the Japan Sommelier Association. In addition, in 2017, Timothy completed a rigorous 12-month sake brewing internship at Hakkaisan Sake Brewery in Niigata, Japan. Currently, he is the Global Brand Ambassador for Hakkaisan Sake. In 2020, Timothy Sullivan began producing and hosting America's first and only sake podcast: Sake Revolution, a fun and beginner-friendly show dedicated to all things sake.
