Wines of Sicily
Ticket Price: $89

Coveted by sommeliers and connoisseurs, Sicilian wines are finally getting the attention they deserve. The largest island in the Mediterranean, Sicily's winemaking traditions can be traced back to ancient times. However, an exciting new chapter began in 1968 when the Etna DOC was established; the island's first Denominazione di Origine Controllata moved Sicilian wines from a path of obscurity to acclaim.

In this immersive workshop, we'll discuss the island's major wine regions, identify the significant indigenous grapes, explore Sicily's rich winemaking history, and taste a flight demonstrating the unique influence of volcanic soil and maritime climate.

Classes are 2 hours long, including a Q&A session with Astor Center Instructor, Wanda Mann.
