Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton

Christopher and Melissa opened their own studio, Canal House, in 2007. They self-publish Canal House Cooking and continue to collaborate, photographing and designing cookbooks. Christopher served as food and design editor for Metropolitan Home magazine, and was one of the founders of Saveur magazine, where she was executive editor. She has written four cookbooks. She is also a photographer, and her pictures have illustrated more than thirty cookbooks. Melissa co-founded the restaurant Hamilton's Grill Room in Lambertville, New Jersey, where she served as executive chef. She then embarked on a career in food styling, recipe testing and development, working at Martha Stewart Living and Cook's Illustrated before joining Saveur, first as director of the test kitchen, and then as food editor. Her styling work has appeared in numerous cookbooks.
