A premiere mixologist whose inspired cocktails have graced the front pages of the The New York Times and Wall Street Journal, James Moreland is one of this generation’s leading spirits authorities. A bartending fixture in New York City for more than nine years—most notably as head bartender at the famed, mixology-forward Town bar when it was voted Best Cocktail Bar in New York City— Moreland has found his true passion.

Moreland’s mastery at blending flavors and textures, creating a taste experience, and enhancing the cocktail moment is beyond compare— especially when it comes to gin, his spirit of choice. He continues to surprise, stun, and attract a regular fan base with his ingenious and luxurious style of cocktail apothecary.

Starting out as an engineer, James Moreland never thought he’d one day be among the foremost cocktail connoisseurs in the country. James now uses his passion and skills to motivate and ensure that the young bar talent come up the ranks the right way.

Moreland continues to bring his significant talent to brands that are already known for advancing the pace and spearheading cocktail movement. Moreland travels the country discovering new flavors, inciting cocktail trends, and educating consumers on the fine art of mixology.

In addition, his experience from his travels have positioned him a lead in product development for Bombay Sapphire Gin and have enabled him to create unique and creative cocktail and food pairings with some of the world’s best chef’s including Jeffery Zakarian, Michael Lomonaco and Marcus Samuelson.

Moreland most recently has been the featured speaker and/or guest lecturer at the Culinary Institute of America, Fairleigh Dickens University, American Bartenders School, Denver Food & Wine Festival and the renowned Aspen Food & Wine Festival.
